Yes the dark patches are a sign of PCO, it is caused by excess insulin
in the blood. There is a name for it, A. Negrins or something,

As well as other symptoms. I have the dark patches too, along the sides
of my neck are where people have noticed it the most. I don't even
think about them, they don't bother me (except for what they mean).
