Hi Sonnet

One night in London??? As a local, of course I rarely actually visit any of the "sights". If you have any daylight hours here, you could try a bus tour (big red open-top double-decker buses, wrap up warm!). Take a look at http://www.bigbus.co.uk, although there are a couple of different companies who run these tours. Sometimes the ticket includes a boat trip on the river as well.

If I had to pick just ONE attraction to visit, I personally would go for the Tower of London see http://www.tower-of-london.com. Lots of history, and the Crown Jewels are on display, and it is right next to Tower Bridge. I don't go into central London very often at night, so maybe someone else has some "night time" recommendations for you!
