Noticing Other Women With PCOS...

Hi Ladies-

I remember a thread about this quite awhile ago...I was out yesterday and saw a woman who could have been a poster child for PCOS. Thinning hair (she was nearly bald), hirsutism, pitted skin, very overweight...it looked to me like she has probably had PCOS forever and has never had it treated in any way. This woman seems to be the ideal Metformin and spironolactone candidate. I was so conflicted. On one hand, I wanted to tell her about PCOS and tell her to see a doctor about it...I thought maybe she has no idea all of these symptoms she has are related (after all, I didn't for a long time) and maybe she'll get to the doctor, get on meds, change her diet, and feel at least a little better. On the other hand, I didn't want to offend her by "noticing" her physical traits. Plus, maybe she'd never get treatment anyway and I would have just offended her for nothing. I actually considered going back to the store where she works and secretly leaving a printout about PCOS on her desk. But then I worried she would be freaked out/hurt that someone who worked with her had left it, and I wouldn't want to make going to work everyday uncomfortable. Ugh! What to do? What do you all think about this?

Curious- -Chris
