:-) PCOS is an acronym for Poly-cystic Ovarian Syndrome. This is a PCOS board.

One thing that I want to say up front is that you do not have to have cysts on your ovaries to have PCOS. The name was determined before that was known. Also, since it is a syndrome, you do not have to have all of the symptoms to have PCOS.

Insulin Resistance is thought to be the cause of our problems. A great place to find out more information on this subject is http://www.pcosupport.org . There is a quiz there to help you determine if you may have PCOS and what kind of questions to ask your doctor.
