Hi Marie-
I have had great success with the "Syndrome X" diet and alpha-lipoic acid. I went from 250+ lbs before metformin to 178, after the diet and supplement. I have kept the weight off for a year.
Since I have discussed this diet on this forum before, I will not repeat it now. You can check the archives for "alpha-lipoic acid" or feel free to write to me and I will be happy to tell you my story.
Atkins didn't work for me. I did lose some weight but felt sick on it.
Good luck. I hope you find something that works for you.
Genny
