Hi Tara,

This is a quite sensible idea, but you could ensure also that you have an orgasm at the same time too! Now, far from the other effects, the cervix actually dips into the semen, beginning its movement in to the uterus, confirmed by statistical tests for conception. It's like a flutter as it contracts and relaxes, like a valve. You may even be able to feel it if you're lying flat.
