MUST KNOW

Hi, I am new here.

I must know though. I have been diagnosed with PCOS (even though I believe that it is a Pituitary Deficiency). However, if my Dr. is correct. He wants to put me on Metformin. After reading most of the posts, it doesn't look like many if any of you have had good results. Has anyone? Has anyone tried anything else that has worked better?

WEIGHT LOSS??????

Has anyone had successful weight loss after being on any medications or any diet besides the Atkins Diet. I mean major weight loss. I weigh 291 lbs.

In 1999, I was first diagnosed with PCOS. Put on Pill. After two months, I quit taking pill due to increased weight gain and major mood swings. Became pregnant with son during month. I lost weight my whole pregnancy. Lost 62lbs. After delivering I could not breastfeed due to this condition. Became pregnant with my daughter 8 weeks after son was born. Gained about 25 lbs. during pregnancy. Lost 40 lbs. after delivery. During pregnancy, mood swings ceased, facial hair growth slowed, no hot flashes, no painful periods, no abdomen pain. Felt better than I had in years.

9 months later - Experiencing Mood Swings, Major facial hair, have gained almost all of weight back, Hot flashed, either too frequent periods, or too infrequent, Ovarian Cysts have started, abdominol tenderness, decreased libido, etc. Lets be honest could live with everything else but I am just so FAT. I just want to sit in the floor and cry. I hate feeling this way.... I was told today that I have probably had this since puberty since I had to starve myself and exercise continuously to be thin. As a Junior in high school, I weighed 140 lbs as a low and that was as very athletic person (cheerleading, track, aerobics, personal fitness and running mornings and evenings and not eating but maybe a few crackers) I am sorry but I can't do that now. So, here I am 10 years later 160lbs. heavier, with two beautiful children who will probably grow up to believe that their mommy just eats too much. Tell me how to deal with that.... I am not experiencing any head hair loss. Not too make anyone else sad, but unless someone comes back with some kind of positive results from something that they have tried I just don't know what to do.

All I ever wanted was too have two beautiful babies and I do. But now I weigh 120 lbs. more than my husband and feel like this huge blob next to him. If it were the other way around I would probably be so embarrassed. I know that he loves me, that's not the question. I wake up in the morning and just put anything that will fit on. My days of looking goog have ceased to exist.

I am so sorry if this is depressing, believe me when I say that I am sitting here crying over my keyboard as my children nap in the next room. But I don't know what to do....i am being completly honest in hopes that someone will read this that is experiencing or has experienced this and has answers. PLEASE tell me someone has answers....

Hopeful,
