Hi!

I have also had this test done. I know that I was on Glucophage for a short period of time right around then. I'm not sure if I had it during the test or not.

As for the test itself, to be blunt, I'm really small down there if you know what I mean and I kept squeezing out the catheter! They insert a catheter through your cervix and inject a dye so that they can see your uterus and your tubes. I've heard horror stories about this test. But honestly, it felt like simply really bad period cramps. The insertion of the catheter really wasn't bad either and I had to have it inserted about four times! So I guess I had it worse than most women. My doctor kept apologizing and kind of giggled and said that I had practically had four of these tests! I was a bit sensitive for a day or so but the whole thing was uncomfortable but for me it wasn't bad at all.

Don't be scared! This is an important test! I also spotted a little. You might want to give your doctor a quick call about the Glucophage. I'm not a doctor but I can't think of a reason why Glucophage could hurt the results of an x-ray.

I agree that a pain reliever could be a good idea. I would not use aspirin however since it can thin your blood and there is a small chance that the procedure could cause an injury that could make you bleed. They may have you sign release forms like I did because of the SMALL chance of injury. You wouldn't want your blood to be thinned if that was the case. Hope it goes well for you! Again, don't be scared. Important info will be gleened! God bless! Tera
