Operating on Cyctic OvariesFrom: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 14 Jan 2002 12:36:05 -0600 (CST)
Hi. I am 23 years old, thin, not hairy women diagnosed with Cystic Ovaries in Sept 2001 after I was hospitalized and had emergency surgery for what they originally diagnosed as Appendicitis. Only while performing an Appendectomy via Laproscoptic surgery did they discover a one large ruptured cyst, which was bleeding internally and causing the mimicked Appendicitis. I recovered and was put on the pill to control the cyst continued growth. I went in for a follow-up Ultrasound recently and they found another large cyst. My doctor says I will be watched for the next two months and if the cyst does not go down I will need surgery again since they believe the cyst could rupture like the last one. I am very upset as well as scared. I just wanted to reach out to other women who may have gone through something similar. I had NO symptoms prior to my first cyst rupturing, other than perhaps heavy monthly cycles. But they were every 28 days, to the day. I am not hairy or have any weight problems. I am not even sure I have true PCOS. Any feedback would be very appreciated!
