Hi tera...if your doctor is checking your liver on a regular basis I can't see why not. I would go slow. Take 1/2 extra pill, so up the dose by 250 at a time. I'm not sure they make it in smaller doses. I would just say go slow and keep checking that liver. I was on 1500mg/day and stopped because I was so sick too. Not a liver problem but sore kidney and sick sick sick. Good luck to you....Bonnie
