Re: pcos-please helpFrom: Belle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 11 Jan 2002 13:44:17 -0600 (CST)
Have you been diagnosed with PCOS. You can have polycystic ovaries and not have the Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. It is very confusing, but your treatment will depend on knowing what is going on with your body. If you have PCOS, adding Glucophage to the Clomid (clomifen) may help. There have been some very promising results. This will help with our insulin problem which seems to be the cause of our other hormone problems. You may need to find someone who has a better grasp of dealing with PCOS. Most of the testosterone lowering drugs have the side effect of being dangerous to a male fetus. Something you do not want if you are trying to get pregnant.
