Metformin/thrush - yuck, sorry!

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed an increased tendency to get thrush when taking Metformin. I recently developed very itchy skin as well as the usual symptoms and think it must be linked to the dreaded Candida, as I've got no signs of a rash and have changed my washing powder to a non-bio variety to be on the safe side. Wondered if it could be anything to do with the excretion of the excess sugar from your body. By my way of thinking, if the Met reduces your blood sugar, then anything left in your system has to go somewhere! Any thoguhts anyone?
