I am not sure from your post, but you are aware that Glucophage and metformin are the same thing.

Aldactone (spironolactone) will help with the increased androgens but Glucophage will help with the suspected underlying cause of PCOS, that is the insulin problem. For some it has helped with the hair growth. I used to have to pluck, wax, Nair, whatever the method I was trying at the time, daily. Now I am down to just having to deal with hair during *that* time of the month. The hair in other places has greatly reduced as well.

There are no guarantees but since the Glucophage helps with correcting the insulin problem and you are no longer allowing your problem go uncheck, chances are that your risk of returning hair problems would be greatly minimized.
