Sue,

You are so right about us being far behind in the UK. I think part of the reason is that we don't pay so why should the doctors bother doing anything for us ? I would be interested to hear how you have found it going private as although i probably can't afford it, it's something I often think about doing.

I too have been on Metformin for about 3 months and although I have not lost any weight, I don't get so many cravings now (except they have come back recently but am going to see dr tomorrow about upping my dose). I had to beg for the medication though as I was told not to bother going back to the Dr's/Consultants until I wanted to have a baby as there was nothing they could do. I just had to lose weight .... yawn !
