The dosages I was on were 2 mg Avandia and 1000 mg Glucophage Extended Release(XR). The XR is taken with dinner only. I took my Avandia in the morning the first month and forgot it a few times and no pg, and no cycle either. Then the second month I took both meds at night and that's when I got pg. I was lowcarbing and had just begun a very mild exercise (swimming 2x a week). I have to say I have never felt better than when I was on this combo. (I'm off of them now that I am pg--there is lots of data on safe use of Met in pg but Avandia is so new that they take you off when you get a positive pregnancy test). I am an overweight PCOSer but I have heard that the combo works just as well in the thinner ladies too. When Met alone doesn't do it, the best thing we can do is find out our testosterone number because that stuff is such a powerful ovulation inhibitor. Avandia is the only drug that works to bring it down to normal levels. We found out we are having a little girl in May, and we are soooo happy. I'll cross my fingers that my friends here have happy luck, too. Hope your day's a great one!
