In essence the only reason to be on bcp's (as far as we're concerned here) is for birth control. It does nothing to treat PCOS and has limited success in reducing the symptoms. In fact it can further impair your glucose tolerance, making your PCOS, overall health, and symptoms worse! At least ask to be treated with insulin sensitizers. They're pretty much (note I say pretty much!) standard treatment these days for PCOS.
