Hello,

I'm another low-carber...lost about 40 lbs in 3 1/2 - 4 months. I tried different levels of carbs and found that in order to maintain weight loss I had to keep them under 20g per day. Once the initial "shock" wore off...such as cravings for bread, pasta, sweets (only lasted a few days though) things were pretty easy. I ate lots & lots of protein, low-carb veggies, drank LOTS of water, and eventually, found myself feeling good enough to get out and walk every day! Anyway, there were concerns about cholesterol...mine stayed the same...never went up...even with the bacon, eggs, sausage & cheese for breakfast 5x a week! Anyway...besides the pounds off as my benefits...I can truly say I never felt better in my life. I'm not saying that it works out for everyone this way. I did not follow a specific lo-carb plan....but I had read all the books...Protein Power, Atkins, Carb Addicts..etc, etc. So, I sort of made up my own plan. Anyway, besides the weight loss & the feeling great there were other things I noticed...I HAD ENERGY! Energy that I really didn't know what to do with...I even started working out at home evry night!..I felt so good, I slept normal (happened after about 2 months of lo-carbing)...prior, I could never fall asleep at night...would toss and turn until the early morning hours...I starting sleeping great..not waking up till it was time to get up, the hairs on my chinny-chin-chin (and other places) slowed in growth (prior, I was plucking every other day)...geez, I could go on and on...but yes, there were benefits for me. One more thing worth mentioning...I was also taking supplements...pretty sure this had something to do with all my successes. Good Luck to you!!! Alexis At Sun, 6 Jan 2002, Sally wrote: >
