Question of where to go now?From: Cheryl (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 5 Jan 2002 20:40:53 -0600 (CST)
I was diagnosed 15 years ago with PCOS. After being sent to many doctors with different opinions of how to treat it (Prednisone,Provera, weight loss) I ended up with carcinoma in situ and had to have a hysterectomy. That was 10 years ago. After the hysterectomy there was no more treatment. The doctors didn't do anything. About 3 years ago I ended up losing one ovary because of a large cyst that encased my ovary and attached to my intestines. That left me with one ovary that is still functioning. I also ended up with a small rash on my stomach that my dermitologist says is a genetic marker of diabetics. I was tested but came back okay. May question is what can I do to prolong the life of my last ovary? I am afraid of losing it because I can't take estrogen. My mother and aunt both had breast cancer that was estrogen senstitive. I am at a loss to what is next. Any help would be appreciated.
