I do not understand why you would be taking the BCPs in this fashion but if you had not taken them since June and your blood test were given in September, it seems likely that your body would be cleared of the medication that was in the pill. Usually, it is best to have 90 days between the use of hormone regulating medications and the checking of blood levels.

The LH/FSH levels do seem off. Unfortunately, not all doctors are familiar with the problems that PCOS can cause and do not aggressively treat it. What treatment did your non-gyn doctor suggest?

You can go to http://www.pcosupport.org to find more information on PCOS. There is a quiz that you can take under "Support" (I think). This is designed to help you determine if you may have PCOS. There is also information that may help you know what questions to ask your doctor. Should you find that you are likely to have PCOS, you may want to consider whatever treatment option suggested by the doctor who thought it might be PCOS or you may want to find a different doctor. For most of the women on here, it *seems* that an endocrinologist is most beneficial. This is because there appears to be in insulin problem at the root of PCOS. Unfortunatly, not all endocrinologists are familiar with the recent findings on PCOS.

Birth Control Pills are not an adequate treatment for PCOS. It can cause symptoms to worsen. If you have PCOS, you need to be looking for insulin sensitizing medications. PCOS is a genetic disorder and there is currently no cure.

All vitamin and mineral suppliments that are purchased commercially are to be used at the risk of the user but **generally speaking**, they are safe when taken as directed.
