Winter air is much drier than at other times of the year. Cold air holds less humidity than warm air, causing it to be drier. Also, when we use heaters, the air gets even dryer. Dry air could explain your symptoms. Those are areas where the air humdity is important.

This caught my eye. This could be a sign of poor capillary refil, a circulation issue. It's not urgent, but next time you see your doctor, just point it out.
