The only abnormal blood work that I had was the fasting blood sugars ranging from 138-140. But the key is your symptoms. I also thought I would tell you that I read a lot on metformin ( glucophage ) they have suggested that the GI symptoms that occur last only about a week until your body gets used to the medication. My dr started me on a low dose 500mg per day and I felt those gi symptoms for about a week and then they were gone. good luck.Raychelle
