Hi,

i want to bring hope to those women with pcos ttc. I was diagnosed early in the year after undergoing fertility tests. I had suffered a miscarriage at 6 weeks but was very lucky as i got pregnant without fertility treatment within 2 months of the previous miscarriage. However i did not realise i was pregnant until 25 weeks pregnant as i presented with no symptoms and was experiencing some degree of spotting during the early months of pegnancy which i presumed was the pcos causing irregular periods. Imagine my suprise when i did the HPT and it came up positive after i had suspicions with weight gain and feeling 'flutterings' in my tum. The weight gain i could of put it down to another symptom of PCOS but the flutterings i could not.

Despite the risks of miscarriage being greater with pcos, i managed to carry the baby to full term without any hormone treatment and finally delivered a healthy baby boy; Joseph Mathew weighing in at 8lb 1oz on the 23rd december 2001 by C-section. This time last year i would of never believed that i would ever have children, so now when i look at my little Joseph, i am in awe of the fact that i finally got pregant and now have a child of my own.

I can appreciate that for some of you, you will of been ttc for much longer or/and the severity of ones PCOS may be greater, but to those who are ttc, please don't give up hope because us women with pcos can still get pregnant. For some of us without assistance and to those with!

Finally, this forum has been a godsend to myself because without it, i probably would of given up ttc ages ago or allow PCOS to take over my body completely. The forum is excellent for educating us all with the syndrome and maybe how we can best manage it. So thanks to those of you who have given me advice and support in the past.
