Hello I was diagnosed with pcos a month ago after a very long 8 months. I had a child in april of 2000 and nursed her for a year. Then I stopped and I thought I was going crazy...I had PMS symptoms for months straight, I would go to the doctor over and over and she would put me on some crazy hormone regimine. I was gaining so much wieght and not having a period. Finally I went to my family practice doctor, because it seemed I was getting nowhere with my GYN...and I sat in her office and cried and cried. I told her I knew something was wrong and was very tired of trying these medications and not finding the problem. Well after a lot of tests and ultrasound , I was diagnosed and placed on 500 mg of metformin everyday. So far this month I have had my first regular cycle...I am amazed. I am starting to feel better and get some energy. Now I want to start working on excercising and changing my diet. Any tips on what worked for you? I keep hearing about low carb diets really helping. But any advice for this new person would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
