When does PCOS usually start? She's 19 and this is the first time she's experienced either of those two symptoms. Is polycystic ovary syndrome something that can come on spontaneously like this?

BTW, we were irresponsible and used the withdrawal method twice, instead of a more reliable form of birth control. I don't know what the odds are of pre-ejaculatory sperm impregating a woman, but lately the odds seem pretty good, if you know what I mean ;)

Also (Sorry about all the questions :), was I right when I said a mid cycle bleeding can be a symptom of a missed ovulation? I read it somewhere and have since not been able to find it again.
