Hi Sarah, strange things in armpits are scary no doubt about it. I get similar things, but mine are more like 'boils' even if nothing comes to a head. My doctor told me the same thing. I also get them under my breasts and on my inner thigh. The hurt and are gross, but very common with pcos women. I would try to get into the doctor when they are swollen, maybe he will understand them better.
