Re: Birmingham Cardiac Diet

You know what's funny...? Last spring I had been told about a diet just like this by a friend of mine (it was called the Hershey Medical Center 3 Day Miracle Diet). So I started researching this diet to see if it was legit (mind you, I had never ever heard of PCOS before) and found myself on the Penn State University Medical Center website - and all the articles they listed had to do with PCOS. So out of curiosity I clicked on one of the links and lo and behold - it was like someone slapped me in the face... it was as if that article was written for me. So that started me endlessly looking up info on PCOS that I printed out and took to my ob/gyn. After a long road and a couple of doctors later, I finally got the tests done that I needed and then got the official diagnosis. And now, 4 months since my dx, I will finally be starting treatment (glucophage). So to me it's just kind of ironic that this diet finds its way here after IT was the reason I found out about PCOS in the first place! :) AND YES - to whomever posted about following your instincts regarding your health - MOST DEFINITELY!!! If I hadn't, I wouldn't be anywhere near where I am now; and I'd probably be a full blown diabetic. So definitely trust your gut!

K, that's it - I'll get off my soapbox now... hope everyone is having a nice weekend!

Tracy
