The patents for metformin are different around the world. Dawn is correct, in the US, at the moment there is only glucophage which is the brand name for metformin. Here in Australia the patent has lapsed - my form is the generic form and it's label is called Diaformin. There are other names too, can't remeber them off the top of my head though. Emma
