PCO without the syndrome???From: Diana (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 13 Dec 2001 10:27:35 -0600 (CST)
Help! I am confused. I am 37 and have have recently had my cycle monitored, as I have had trouble falling pregnant. After the ultrasounds that monitored my cycle, my doctor mentioned that I have polycystic ovarys which showed up on the ultrasound. She then went on to say, that as my hormone levels are perfectly normal, that I am ovulating normally, that my periods have always been normal and that 25% of women have these type of ovarys and that it is hereditary. She said it was kind of like blue eyes, brown eyes. She then went on to say NOT to take heed of all the information on the web about the problems associated with PCO as i dont have any hormone problems. Well of course the first thing I did was get on the web and read about PCOS and all the symptoms and diseases! So I just dont understand how I can have the polycystic ovarys and yet no illness at all. i have found no information about symptom free "normal" polycystic ovarys. Can anyone help me? I really dont get it! Is my specialist fibbing about how serious my situation is? D :-)
