Re: May have PCOSFrom: Cindy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 13 Dec 2001 09:26:14 -0500
Bonnie, I don't think the doctor really meant it to be a necessity for your husband to accompany you. I think s/he just thought that it would be good for him to be there so the 2 of you can learn together. I know when I was diagnosed I was thankful to have my husband with me. It was all a lot for me to handle and he was able to ask questions I never thought of asking and he was able to retain what the doctor had said better than I was after the fact. I think the doctor is just thinking that it will be a comfort and a help for you to have your husband there. Perhaps the doctor has a strong feeling by looking at your tests that you do have PCOS (although why would s/he wait to mention it until you asked??) I wouldn't worry about it. I'm pretty sure it's just for a comfort and support thing and not because of anything more serious than PCOS. I wish you luck.
