May have PCOSFrom: bkmomto3 (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 13 Dec 2001 08:07:33 -0600 (CST)
I just discovered this forum yesterday when I started researching PCOS. The whole site is wonderful and informative. After suffering for over a year, and now that I'm reading testimonies, probably many years, I called my gyn yesterday and asked if any of bloodwork that was performed on me this last spring tested for PCOS. I was told that some of the tests were included in the PCOS test panel, but not all. The doctor's assistant called back to tell me that the doctor wants to see me on Fri. to talk. She then offered to fax some info about PCOS to my hubby's workplace since we don't have a fax machine. When hubby received the info, he noticed that there were handwritten notes in the margins. He then called my doctor and spoke with the doctor's assistant. Hubby just wanted to know what the handwritten notes were about. The assistant then told my hubby that the doctor said that he would like my hubby to come to my appointment with me. I'm just wondering, since I haven't even been tested for PCOS, why is it necessary for my husband to accompany me to my doctors visit? Anyone one have any ideas? Thanks, Bonnie
