Anne:
Thanks for writing back. It's amazing how good it feels to know I am
not alone or crazy or trying to solve this medical riddle on my own! I
guess that's the beauty of boards like this. Support!
Yes, hyper was awful! I had to be on beta blockers for months because of
it, I am so glad to be past that stage. I have had pretty good luck
with levoxyl. My endo really listens to what I say and how I feel and
then balances that with the labs.
I feel like I am in the middle of a PCOS explosion. Since we (ENDO &
me) have got a handle on the Graves', it seems like my PCOS has gotten
immediately worse. Almost like the Graves' supressed the symptoms of
PCOS. My hair is coming out like crazy - and I mean a lot! My formerly
rock hard nails are brittle and pretty much gone. Hair is growing in
all the places I don't want it to again. And then there's the weight...
:)
I know all about the EXTREMELY strict diet and exercise for months with
no results to show. I am really sorry that you have experienced that
too. That has been one of the most difficult parts of PCOS for me. I
am an exercise physiologist by trade - I have a masters degree in
exercise science. Yet, nothing I do, nothing I know physiologically
SHOULD work gets rid of the weight. It is an exercise (pardon the pun)
in futility. It's tough being 40 pounds overweight and getting people
to believe I am an educated health & fitness professional! :)
I am really happy to hear that you have had some good progress and are
feeling better. I figure if one of us on this discussion board feels a
little better, it should make us all feel a little better.
Take care!
