Re: Anyone with semi-regular periods?

I agree with Penhead. I have PCOS with irregular periods. However my
cousin also has PCOS with fairly regular periods. Suggest an ultrasound
to check out how your ovaries are doing these days. If they're anything
like most of ours they probably look like a chocolate chip cookie. Also,
if you get any blood work to check for insulin resistance and hormone
imbalances make sure they use conservative numbers to interpret the
results. According to my regular doc and obgyn my numbers are fine.
According to my reproductive endocrinologist I'm IR and my hormones are
slightly out of whack. I doesn't take a genius to know that something
must be off if we have as much facial hair as our husbands and have a
hairline like them too! Yes, it certainly sounds like you have PCOS.
Actually you have more symptoms than I do (I don't have skin tags or
brown patches - yet) and I've been diagnosed for quite some time.
Although I have not heard of an irregular heartbeat being a symptom of
PCOS. I strongly agree with Penhead - you do need to be your own
advocate. I am sick of being blown off by the medical community. Keep
in mind also that Clomid doesn't work for everyone with PCOS especially
if you are IR. It didn't work for me. However it seems to work better
if you are on Metformin while you are on Clomid if you are insulin
resistant in all of the studies I've looked at. God bless!
