Hi Meaghan! Good luck with your school project! I was 26 when diagnosed with PCOS. I am 30 now. I should have been diagnosed between ages 14-25. I started showing signs around age 12, it started with skin discoloration around the ankle, then the acne started at age 13 and lasted until I was 22. I would still have the acne if I had not taken Acutaine. The weight gain started around age 13, mainly in the abdominal area. as I got into my late teens, the dark hair atarted appearing on the upper lip and neck area. As I got older, it got worse. When I was in Jr. high I remember this girl came up to me and asked,"You used to look so normal what happened?" I went home in tears that day and wondered the same thing. It was many years before I found out the answer to that question. I read a magazine article my sister had given me, and found a new gyno., who diagnosed me. It would have been very helpful if I had found out more information when I was in High School or college for that matter. I applaud your efforts in making young women aware of this disorder! Tanya
