Re: Dizzy spellsFrom: anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Nov 2001 15:24:59 -0600 (CST)
Rhonda, I don't know what will work for you, but between thyroid meds and glucophage, I do not get dizzy anymore -- unless I eat the wrong things. Dizziness is a symptom of reactive hypoglycemia (among other things) which we get due to having too much insulin in our systems. Insulin resistance gets worse at the end of our cycles when testorone goes up and estrogen goes down which may be why you got it worse towards the end of your cycle/very beginning. That's what I read in "Women, Weight and Hormones" by Elizabeth Vliet, MD - anyway. My dizziness was not as bad as your's sounds. I have done a 24 hour urine, it's not a lot of fun. Oh, also, do you have a sinus condition? I think my dizziness reduced after I had sinus surgery which I still consider one of the best things I ever did for myself. I wonder if maybe you have a number of things that could be causing the dizziness and not just one thing. Do you get headaches too - could you be suffering from migraines? I hope you feel better soon. I know you must feel awfully frustrated. Anne
