Thanx guys for the info. I feel the need to tell you about my history.. maybe some of you can give me some advice. I was diagnosed 2 years ago after ttc for almost 2 years. He did blood tests and the signs were ALL there, but didn't do an ultrasound. He put me on Clomid, several different doses, for 5 months with no results. He then did a HSG (hysterosalpingogram) and found my tubes were blocked. He was able to unblock them during the test by pushing real hard on the dye tube...told me I also had PID because of clamydia that my ex husband had given me. NOTHING for a long time.. then 3 months ago more blood work.. testosterone was still about 29. He put me on Spiro and then after a month added Avandia because my insulin levels were high, and had been all along. My symptome include VERy irregular periods, overweight with most in the middle, A LOT of facial hair and hair on my body where it really shouldn't be.. I have had these symptoms since about 14. My thyriod was tested and is normal. The Avandia has made me have a period at 28 days, but didn't get pregnant and am SO discouraged right now. My dr is a ob/gyn and has a great personality. He is always willing to listen and talk to me. The trouble is that now (and even before) I feel that he has no idea how to treat this. I have read so many other stories about women ttc and their treatments seemed much more aggressive than mine. I also wonder whether the PCOS treatment in general he has chosen is the right one. I am so tired of never being able to lose weight, of the moodiness and fatigue, the feeling that everyone looks at me and thinks I am a freak! I guess what I am wondering.. is my treatment acceptable ? Is my dr on the right track or should I find a better one?? ANY advice would be so greatly appreciated.
