Dear Tiffany,

BCP is not the only option for PCOS. In fact, if your diagnosis is correct you should probably be trying Metformin (also known as glucophage). You can look up about this on this forum as there are plenty of discussions. If your dr is not very up to date, perhaps you might want to find a reproductive endocrinologist or at least an endocrinologist. Try to research and then discuss treatment options with your Doctor. BCP only treats symptoms not the cause. Look up PCOS and insulin resistance. Plenty of good info. on the net on this site and others.
