Re: Anyone lose enough weight to help symptoms?????(other questions)From: cw (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 15 Nov 2001 20:59:52 -0600 (CST)
A few years ago, I lost a ton of weight and was wearing a size 8 and 10. At the age of 30-35, I looked great! But....I still had a hairy face, was still losing the hair on my head, still had very few periods and when I did have periods had severe cramps, mood swings, awful pms, etc. etc. etc. Now it's been impossible to keep my weight down even though I'm very athletic. I'm back in a size 14. PCOS has caught up with me. Nothing seems to work. For the past year, I've taken the bcp Demulen. It has helped tremendously with my hair problems. No more electrolosys needed! No more hair falling out of my head! I'm on a 35 day cycle and no longer have painful periods or mood swings or pms! I am now waiting impatiently for my doctor to prescribe glucophage to help with the other 50% of the symptoms. I can't wait!!!! Me personally.....I've tried everything natural for years, diets, supplements, exercise, herbs, etc. Worked for a little while, then backfired. At age 40, I have finally decided to accept the idea of medication. I do not regret it.
