I'm hoping someone here might be able to help. I don't think I fit the pattern for PCOS, but there's a ocuple of things I'm wondering about. Here's my history. I have 3 children, easily conceived, have either been on birth control pills, breastfeeding, or pregnant, so I have either had no periods, or very regular periods, 30 day cycles, with normal bleeding. After last child, I was on Depo Provera for 1 year. Got off that to try for 4th child. Bled like crazy almost nonstop for 1 year, took dose of Provera, got back on regular cycles, conceived 3 cycles later. We lost that child in April, 2nd trimester due to chromosome problem. We've been ttc since for 6 cycles. I"m charting with 28-30 day cycles, and appear to ovulate every month, and we've managed to conceive twice, but had very early miscarriages, so we're seeking some fertility intervention next month. On the surface, it seems unlikely that I could have PCOS. However — in my last pregnancy I started getting pimples on my cheeks (I've never had acne before, thought it was just the pregnancy, but I'm still getting it almost every cycle now, 1-2 pimples each cheek) plus in the last couple of years, I've been getting hairs that I have to pluck — 2 or 3 on my chin, a few hairs on my big toe, and some black hairs below my belly button. I thought this was just getting older, but everything I read ties it to PCOS. I had numerous ultrasounds in my last pregnancy and previously when I was on Depo Provera, and no docotr has ever mentioned cysts on my ovaries. But I'm wondering, could someone with nothing but the acne and hairs have PCOS and no other symptoms, or are those the least of the symptoms? Or can those be symptoms of something else? Or is there some quantity or threshold of acne or hairs that I'm not reaching. Do a few hairs or pimples count? I appreciate any advice or help from women who may have some insight.
