Hi Monica, all women with with PCOS are IR to one extent or another. Some of the testing is not done properly or is not sensitive enough to pick it up..or as Bell said the Doctor dosent know how to interpret it because it is different than looking for diabetes. They have found that PCOS is genetic.Eigther inherited or from a new mutation in chromisome 19 which effects the insulin re uptake cells. So being that it is a genetic defect and it affects us at the cellular level we can not say that someone will never be IR or diabetic that has PCOS. MOre than likely we all are IR and just don't know it yet.
