PCOS and ?From: anonymous (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 4 Nov 2001 08:49:45 -0600 (CST)
Several years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS. My periods were very irregular and several of the usual symptoms. The specialist gave me several rounds of clomid to try to assist pregnancy---without success. After talking with my husband---we decided to not go further with infetility treatments---due to the cost and no guarantee of pregnancy. We have been talking about adoption---but have not really gone far with that yet. I had not had a period for several months---until last month. ALso had another this month. These two periods have been different than in the past---both months there have been abdominal pains several days before the periods starts. A friend thinks that it might be pains from ovualtion---could that be? Also the consistency and look of the flow is different----thinner and more of a tranparent red than others. I am presently trying to find a obgyn in my area that has knowledge about PCOS---so far without success. My insurance will not pay for a specialist. I have tried asking by word of mouth---is there a way to find a doc in my area---lists on the net or anything? Thanks Puzzled
