Prior to diagnosis, i started having an hour's reflexology therapy session once a week of which i started this treatment in Oct 2000. My menstrual cycle was very irregular and timing ovulation was obviously very difficult. Also my BBT showed no rise during any given cycle, indicating i probably did not ovulate. However on commencing the Reflexology, within a couple of months, my periods started to regulate from every so often to every 4-5 weeks. Also i started to get BBT rises on the time during assumed ovulation!!!I got pregnant within two months of starting this complementary treatment but unfortunately had a misscarriage at 6 weeks. However with the stress of undergoing continued sub-fertility investigations, i continued to have the 'holistic' therapy as not only did it help regulate my periods it also was my time to totally relax and unwind, important when ttc. And as you well know, it can be a very trying time for both partners. The demand of fertility tests is equally physically tiring and emotionally draining. Anyway i continued to have weekly sessions right up to March of this year when i fell pregnant again. I am now 33 weeks pregnant. It was ironic as it was during this time that we decided to take some time out to chill out from all the fertility examinations when i concieved!!! I was not taking any medication at time of concieving apart from the Reflexology sessions. The important thing to remember is that if you are considering alternative treatment, to keep an open mind and seek a therapy that you are comfortable with. Any reputable Therapist will not lure you into false pretence by claiming that they can cure you, as like with any orthodox methods of treatment, it isnt always 100% effective. You can search on the web for 'alternative complementary therapy' sites or look in the yellow pages. Please ensure that your chosen therapist is registered with a regulating body, insured and is qualified.
Good luck!
