Getting Started with PCOSFrom: rose (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 31 Oct 2001 13:20:46 -0600 (CST)
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS as a twenty something and just weeks after I got married to my very supportive DH. I have not found the endocrinologist or the sympathetic doctor who had heard about this syndrome before, yet! I was diagnosed after I failed to have periods even with a hormone treatment designed to make them happen. Ovarian cysts were found in the ultrasound. I have been reading about you, other women with PCOS and wondering how much of it applies to me. I used to be skinny and have only recently started gaining weight but am still within "normal weight". I have thick hair and hairy legs. LOL The biggest issues are not being able to get pregnant and I am worried weather I have normal insuline levels. (only heard about them in the internet) How do I get started? I am quite confused right now with all of this info and have no other women to talk to. :( Thanks! "pcosrose"
