It sounds like you need an IGTT to find out if there is something going on between the time you eat and the time you get to a fasting level. You can have a perfectly normal fasting level and still have a glucose/insulin roller coster ride a few hours after you eat.

When you take a fasting level, your insulin and glucose have had several hours to level out.

The BCP decreases your bodies ablilty to metabolize glucose so if your body is stuggling to metabolize glucose, it may be releasing too much insulin in order to compensate. This could be causing a drop in your blood sugar and *could* cause the symptoms you describe.

Will the Glucophage help you? It is hard to tell. Some inital indications are that Glucophage will help women who are not insulin resistant. So the decision is yours.
