The official numbers are 23 to 75 ng/dl or 0.8 to 2.6 nmol/L for women over 25.

The actual numbers that you should be looking at are the specific numbers for you specific lab. Each lab will differ on its normal to a certain extent. Each lab tech will have a slightly different norm based on exactly how the test is run, how long after the draw the test is run, how much josting occurs to the sample before the test is run, what kind of testing equipment is at the lab, how new the equipment is and when the last calibration of the equipment occured.

Many people think that the tests are run in the next room from where their blood was drawn but this is rarely the case. It is usually shipped off to a lab. This is true if you have your blood drawn in a hospital, doctors office, or even if you go to the lab's collection center.
