Ten years and still no answer...From: April (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Oct 2001 15:22:44 -0600 (CST)
The first time I heard of polycystic ovary syndrome was when I was eighteen, and all the docs did was put me on BCP's. Now at 28, I have had one child with Clomid and I am 5'7" and pushing 300 lbs. Every doctor I've spoken has been wishy-washy on the diagnosis even though I have almost every symptom. My last ob/gyn said he felt that I had PCOS and asked me what I wanted him to do about it. Pretty insensitive. My aunt who also has PCOS has been supportive, but now I need to get a referral from a new primary care physician to a specialist (just moved and got new insurance and doc). I am extremely frustrated and not anxious about trying once again to convince a doctor that I have a real problem and I am not just and overeating couch potato. I am tired of facial hair, obesity, irregular periods (100 days apart...), and I want another child. I have anxiety, mild dpression, aggression, skin tags, darkened skin pathces, cystic ovaries. I'm begging for help as it is, but I've had so much rejection I'm afraid to try anymore. I need help...
