It's not permanent, but laser hair removal does work to reduce and sometimes eliminate the excess facial hair. I had it done a year ago (I had six sessions--not cheap!) because the hairs on my chin were so stubborn, I couldn't pluck them anymore and they did stay away for quite a while. Some are now coming back (unfortunately), but they're a LOT finer. I'm just resigned to the fact that I'm going to have to save up some money to get this done a few times a year to at least ensure the stubborn ones don't come back the way they used to be!

I also tried electrolysis--some people have had good luck with this, but I always scarred from this and the hairs grew back.
