Mcg is 1/1000th of a mg. Mcg is the dosage that chromium is sold in.

Chromium picolinate or chromium GTF both elicit a positive response in reducing skin tags.

In our discussions before about chromium, we discussed the difference between the two types of chromium that are on the market. Chromium picolinate has been used in a couple of studies on weight loss (sponsored by the manufacturers) and has gained great fame because of these studies. Unfortunately, less frequently discussed is the fact that picolinate is derived from nicotine. Pic. has been shown to cause tumor growth in lab animals.

Chromium GTF (Glucose Tolerance Factor) has not shown to cause any concern for health (that I am aware of). It is sometimes difficult to find. GNC carries it but I have not been able to find it at grocery store.

The theory is that the chromium is the causitive factor for the weightloss and the elimination of the skin tags, not the base in which it is contained. So your choice is between the two bases.
