HI Jodi, My doctor had told me that my hairiness was do to 2 factors. 1st being genetic..I am hispanic and hispanic woman tend to be a little hairier and 2nd I had very high free testosterone and DHEA which I did not always have. I did not always have this excess hair.It only started to get bad the past 3 years or so.I am 36 this Wed.I also just startd to notice the other day when I went for a hair cut that I have thinning hair on my head now to were I had a ton of very thick hair on my head. My beautition even mentioned that I am starting to loose some hair.So I guess the answere to your question would be yes. Some PCOS symtoms can get really bad as your PCOS worsens and I had noticed the hair thing worsening. It seems to me that it is a progressive disease or at least it has been for me.I recently started taking metformin about 7 weeks ago so hopefully I will stop loosing my hair. I won't know for sure for a couple of more weeks when I go back for follow up testing.I dont want to take spiro because I want to get pregnant. I had laser done on my face this past spring and summer and it worked well so I do feel a bit better about my face. as far as hair on my legs..I wear pants all the time so it dosent really bother me. My husband is like Sonnets he wouldnt care if I am hairy and bald,he loves me for who I am not what I look like. I am more critical of myself than he is of me.Take care,Dona
