Hello, I have had the weight gain, irregular periods, facial hair, chest hair etc. Lately I have had a general feeling of "not healthy", no energy, depressed, and extremely tired. I have been to my Gyn and told him all of the above and I believe he thinks I am a hypochondriac. He told me to lose weight and I would feel better, but he did note that my cholesterol is high (for the first time in my life) and my estrogen is low (a concern because my husband and I would like to start a family soon). My Mom recently read the article in Health Magazine (April 2001) about Christine Gray, and told me that she thought she was reading about me. I would like to find out if I have PCOS and if there is treatment. Can anyone recommend a Doctor familiar with PCOS, I don't believe that my Gyn is familiar with it and since he is on the brink of retirement, I think it would be best for me to see someone else. I am 30 years old and live in the San Gabriel Valley in So. California, about 20 miles east of Los Angeles. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
