Spiro / Aldactone does NOT cause irregular bleeding for everyone. As with any drug some may have a reaction, but not everyone. Your Dr. may or may not have you take the pill with it. Since it can cause problems for a male fetus, you really don't want to get pregnant on it. If you don't have a need for bc now, let your Dr. know that you'll talk about it more should that change.

BCP's I don't have any experience with as I can't tolerate them for long. Yasmin is supposed to have Spiro like properties but how much so I don't know.

Have you tried vitamins yet? I've noticed a difference in my hair regrowth since starting a good multi vitamin. Zinc may be helpful with hairloss. A lot of vitamin A can cause it to get worse. If your iron levels are low, it can cause hairloss. Taking a multi with Iron could be helpful. (plus it would probably have the Zinc.)

I read somewhere the other day that Tagamet (yep the stomach meds) has antiandrogenic properties. My Dad took Tagamet daily for years and years (Rx strength), so I assume it would be safe to take it for extended periods. (He's 90 and still doing great : ))

There are various homeopathic remedies that people take. I admittedly don't know much about them. Saw Palmetto seems to be talked about a lot but again I don't know the specifics.

There are various Rx creams and such that you might as your Dr. about if you'd like to avoid taking more meds.

I'm sure your Dr. will have a lot of suggestions for you. If you want to research before you speak to them, there is a ton of info. on the net!
